You need to take good care of your feet and ankles, because they support you through your life.   • Wash and dry your feet daily, and apply lotion to your feet and ankles.
  • Trim your toenails straight across to prevent ingrown toenails.
  • Wear supportive, properly fitting shoes, with plenty of toe room to prevent hammertoe, bunions, corns, and calluses. Try on shoes late in the day when your feet are largest. Replace all worn out shoes.
  • Wear the proper athletic footwear for the sport or activity you are doing.
  • Never go barefoot; always wear foot protection. Always wear at least SPF 15 sunblock if you are outside, and don’t forget your feet and ankles.
